Mentoring Program

Over half of all Optimist Volunteer Members who quit do so within their first year…WHY?

The Optimist Mentoring Program is a personal development program pairing an experienced Optimist Volunteer with a New Member for an eight-week period to help familiarize the new member with the organization, traditions, events and projects.

Walk for Youth

The Optimist Walk for Youth is a fund raising project that can be taken into any community. The originators of the idea, The Coquitlam Optimist Club, found that not only did the project raise a considerable amount of money for youth groups in the community it also raised their community profile considerably. The groups involved get a sense of accomplishment for having helped themselves and the whole community benefits from being able to take part in a community event.

A sample registration form and promotional flyer are available by clicking on the links below and if you would like to have more information, please email Cathy Andersen of the Coquitlam Club.
